Abstract: |
We consider a point-like massive particle under the influence of a constant gravitational force propagating in some domain associated with an ideally reflecting mirror. Describing the flight trajectory of the particle in focus form we show that the associated foci, for consecutive reflections of the particle along the mirror boundary, lie on a common curve depending on the mirror geometry. Taking advantage of these so called foci curves we derive the confined propagation domains in the non-periodic orbit case for general 2D mirrors and in 3D for a paraboloid mirror surface.
