»A family of birational models of generalized Kummer varieties as coverings of a projective 4-space«

Abstract:
I will discribe a work in progress in collaboration with Gregory Sankaran and Marc Nieper-Wisskirchen, where we construct birational models of generalized Kummer varieties using degree 15 ramified coverings of the projective 4-space. The starting point of this work is a geometric interpretation of the group law on the Jacobian of a genus 2 curve. I will also explain the challenge beyond this construction.
